493K Ltd. said its new K-Kreator benchtop rotational molding machine comes with a test mold included, for mechanical testing using shot weights of less than 2.2 pounds, for a 1/8-inch wall thickness. Heavier samples can be molded, as desired.
With accuracies of 0.1 of an angular degree on both the major and minor aces and rotation speeds of up to 150 revolutions per minute on the major axis, K-Kreator helps molders decide precisely when and there they want the powder pool to be. Programmable wall thickness variation allows the molder to thicken areas containing inserts, strengthen parts of the molding and even get powder to areas that are normally hard to reach.
K-Kreator heats the mold with electrically heated hot air. Because the oven is mounted on the inside of the major axis of rotation and all the mold support metalwork is on the outside of the oven, less energy is required to heat the oven.
493 K is based in Belfast.
