VisiPak has acquired Tulox Plastics Corp., a maker of clear plastic packaging.
“This acquisition correlates directly with our long-term strategies regarding increased product offerings and market reach,” said Brad Philip, president and chief operating officer of Sinclair & Rush Inc., parent company of VisiPak.
Tulox operates a facility in Marion, Ind., but production from that site will be relocated to existing VisiPak manufacturing plants in St. Louis and Carlstadt, N.J., the company said. Tulox, on its website, calls itself “leading manufacturers of custom packaging tubes.”
Tulox extrudes plastic tubes from four resins — cellulose propionate, glycol-modified PET, PVC and polypropylene, according to the website.
VisiPak designs and produces clear plastic packaging through extrusion, thermoforming, injection molding and other fabricating and decorating technologies, the company said.
Packaging includes clamshell packaging, clear plastic tubes, transparent boxes, blister packs and plastic trays. The company also makes plastic containers, jars and vials.
“Through this acquisition, we expect to accelerate our growth efforts and expand our presence as one of the largest plastic container manufacturers in North America,” said Jeff Barket, director of sales and marketing for Sinclair & Rush, in a statement.
Sinclair & Rush dates back to 1950, where it started out supplying dip molded products. Six companies now make up the Arnold, Mo.-based firm: StockCap, VisiPak, GripWorks, VynaFlex, Castle Bay and Soffware.
