Getting tired of reading about Kentucky in all those March Madness stories? How about checking out Fox 40 instead. After all, this Canadian company — and its injection molded whistles — will be the real champion in this year's NCAA basketball tournament.
The New York Times has more on how one official, frustrated when a traditional whistle failed during a high-level game, turned to creating a better one. Fox 40 International Inc. of Hamilton, Ontario, is now the preferred whistle for sports officials in a variety sports around the world.
At this year's college basketball tournament, it will not only be the official whistle (for officials), it will also be linked to the time clock, automatically stopping time each time it's blown.
