Injection molding technology group Arburg GmbH & Co. KG hit a new record with 540 million euros ($575.9 million) in sales in 2014.
The 2014 figure compares with 2013 sales of 470 million euros ($501.2 million) and sales of 488 million euros ($520.5 million) in 2012, its previous record.
“The figures for 2014 clearly reflect a successful business year,” said Michael Hehl, managing partner at Arburg, who announced the financial results at the group's Technology Days event at its Lossburg, Germany, headquarters last week.
There was a 15 percent increase in the value of incoming orders in 2014, and 92 percent of these orders were received through Arburg's own organizations, he said.
Arburg's major machinery segments enjoyed sales growth in 2014: value increases were 10 percent for electric machines, 28 percent for hybrid machines and 25 percent for the hydraulic Allrounder machine series.
Large Allrounders with clamping forces of up to 5,000 metric tons increased by 16 percent, while turnkey systems increased by 34 percent, the company said.
Arburg had 2,400 employees worldwide by the end of 2014, which is 6.4 percent higher than the previous year.
“The new assembly hall currently under construction at our headquarters in Lossburg offers a glimpse into the future. Everything is running according to schedule at the construction site. The provisional moving-in date is autumn 2015,” Hehl said.
