Optimum Plastics is the new name of two film companies that combined their businesses in October.
Bloomer Holding Inc. of Bloomer, Wis., now doing business as Optimum Plastics, owns Bloomer Plastics Inc. and Delaware, Ohio-based Optimum Plastics Inc.
Bloomer Plastics bought the Ohio firm last autumn. The Wisconsin operation specializes in cast, embossed films while the Ohio plant makes coextruded blown films. Both process nylon.
After considerable debate, officials of the companies chose the name Optimum “because it better represented what we do,” explained Jerry Kolanczyk, Optimum Plastics vice president of sales, in a phone interview.
Kevin Keneally, former CEO of Bloomer Plastics, is now CEO of the new Optimum Plastics.
The Optimum Plastics name will be reflected in the businesses' brand messaging and website.
