Michigan custom injection molder Hicks Plastics Co. Inc. will open a manufacturing facility in Knoxville, Tenn., to produce automotive lighting components.
The Macomb Township auto supplier specializing in vacuum metalizing, will set up in an existing building in Knoxville, a Tennessee state news release stated. The expansion represents an investment of approximately $10.4 million.
Hicks Plastics' first customer in Tennessee will be SL Tennessee, a manufacturer of automotive head and tail lamps, the release indicates. Hicks Plastics has committed to hiring 202 in Knox County and expects to begin operations this summer and ramp up to full production by the end of the year.
The company reported annual sales of approximately $15 million, according the most recent Plastics News ranking.
