ORLANDO, FLA. — Routsis Training of Dracut, Mass., has been passing out cards offering free online courses in establishing the scientific molding process.
“We are handing them out like candy,” Andy Routsis, president, said in an interview at NPE 2015 in Orlando.
The firm has added cross-platform capability to all of its online training courses and, according to Routsis, becomes the only trainer to offer on-the-go multiplatform training in scientific injection molding and related topics.
Training can occur at any hour over the Internet using almost every platform — from Apple or Windows-based laptops and tablets to phones and even Google Glass and other devices supporting Flash or HTML5 video.
Developing the capability took about a year and required hiring three individuals with multimedia and computer experience.
Including the new hires, Routsis Training employs nine and utilizes the services of eight outside representatives around the globe.
Routinely, Routsis Training develops new training modules and updates existing courses with best and next-generation practices.
At NPE 2006, process control specialist RJG Inc. of Traverse City, Mich., announced plans to acquire A. Routsis and Associates Inc., but the deal was never concluded.
At NPE 2015, Routsis said he and RJG management agreed at the end of 2008 to terminate the purchase plans.
The firms, however, continue to collaborate in referring clients with particular needs. The legal name for the online course provider remains A. Routsis & Associates Inc., which does business as Routsis Training.
