Delta Plastics of the South LLC has been recycling a lot of agricultural plastics for a lot of years.
The Little Rock, Ark.-based company recently passed the billion pound total, and has been recycling since 1998.
The company, which calls itself the largest plastic recycler in Arkansas, said its recycled plastics are used to make products including trash can liners manufactured by sister company Revolution Bag Co.
"This would never have happened without the help of farmers throughout the Delta region," said Delta Plastics Chairman Dhu Thompson in a statement. “And while we celebrate this milestone, we are still working to find more farms with recyclable plastic that can be reused rather than thrown away.”
Delta Plastics also makes and supplies irrigation polytube for the agricultural industry.
