At NPE 2015, Proco Machinery Inc., which makes automation systems for blow molding in Mississauga, Ontario, launched a new design for its takeout system for shuttle blow molding machines: Robopik EX2.
The Robopik EX2 model offers a compact, simple design that is cost effective, and has similar features as previous models, according to the company.
Robopik EX2 is an upgraded version of Proco's original Robopik and Robopik Plus models. It accommodates a wide range of shuttle extrusion blow machines such as the Bekum H style, and other brands, without modification of adjustment.
“The new design focuses on simplicity and is the result of several years of development work with leading blow molding processors who seek to reduce costs by implementing simple, cost-effective manufacturing solutions,” said Siva Krish, Proco's sales manager.
A new takeout system has an upgraded controller with a color touchscreen and the ability to store job recipes, for easy recall. Scrap collection is easier, with an optional common scrap conveyor to collect both tail flash and neck flash, instead of two in the original design.
In other NPE news, Proco Machinery introduced the Ultratest leak tester, featuring for portable, easy-setup, and self-calibration.
The Ultratest can cycle 120 containers per minute using just one test head. Using multiple heads can achieve cycles of up to 300 containers per minute.
Once the test head height is adjusted and the photo eyes are set up, the system calibrates itself after just a few containers.
