MeadWestvaco Corp., a global packaging company with some operations in plastics, is joining the Recycling Partnership.
The Richmond, Va.-based company becomes the newest member of group that promotes increased curbside recycling collection by working with communities.
“The timing couldn't be better to welcome MWV onboard. We have started work in their hometown of Richmond earlier this year,” said Recycling Partnership CEO Keefe Harrison in a statement.
“The Recycling Partnership's strategic and thoughtful approach to advancing the state of recycling through community-based efforts is just what is needed to move the needle in a meaningful way,” said Rhea Hale, a member of MWV's global product stewardship team, in a statement.
MeadWestvaco, earlier this year, revealed plans to merger with Rock-Tenn Inc.
