Dutch company Eriks NV is expanding its reach in the North American plastics sector with two acquisitions: Dallas-based Seals and Packings Inc. and Rock Hill, S.C.-based Action Industrial Group LLC.
The Seals and Packaging deal, by Eriks Seals and Plastics Inc., extends Eriks' reach in the oil and gas industry. Seals and Packings has been in operation for more than 30 years and distributes seals and related components to the oil and gas, automotive, rail, aerospace, mobile and industrial hydraulics, chemicals, petrochemicals and medical sectors. The company also has operations in Houston; Atlanta; Tulsa, Okla.; and Sheffield, England.
Eriks Seals and Plastics said in a news release that the combination will provide for greater product availability, engineering expertise and customized logistics solutions. Eriks Seals and Plastics focuses on sealing and custom molded elastomers, engineering plastics and bearings products. It also offers technical and logistics services. The company is based in Fort Worth, Texas, and also has facilities in New Berlin, Wis.; Seattle; Anaheim, Calif.; Houston and Tulsa.
Eriks NV's Lewis-Goetz and Co. Inc. subsidiary also recently boosted its plastics presence with the April 9 purchase of Action Industrial Group, a fabricator and distributor specializing in fasteners, gaskets, hose products and industrial tools and supplies.
Eriks NV, an Alkmaar, the Netherlands-based firm has companies in five core activities: flow technology, sealing and rubber technology, industrial plastics, power transmission and bearings, and tools, maintenance and safety products.
