No injuries have been reported from a fire that broke out April 29 at a compounding plant operated by Teknor Apex Co. in Oldbury, England.
Local media reports said that the plant's entire roof was on fire at one point and that smoke was visible from miles away. One report quoted a fire official saying the fire started in a storage area.
As many as 75 firefighters were at the scene, reports said. The fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. local time.
A spokesman for Pawtucket, R.I.-based Teknor said that all of the Oldbury plant's employees were accounted for. No details as to the extent of the damage or on the cause of the fire were available.
Teknor makes compounds based on nylon and thermoplastic elastomers at the Oldbury plant, which is about 130 miles north of London.
