Japanese-owned automotive supplier D.A. Inc. will open a new manufacturing facility in Indiana's River Ridge Commerce Center, part of the greater Louisville, Ky., area.
The planned 38,000-square-foot facility in Charlestown, Ind., will manufacture plastic clamps, clips and protectors for Midwest customers including Toyota and Honda, a news release from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation indicates.
The company plans to add 21 jobs by 2016, with hiring to begin next year, and has been offered up to $150,000 in performance-based tax credits by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.
The operation represents a $10.6 million investment for D.A. Inc. and its parent company, Kojima Industries, according to the release. D.A. Inc. also operates a distribution center and corporate office in Charlestown, Ind., as well as an injection molding facility in New Mexico. The company had estimated 2013 sales of $40 million, according to Plastics News data.
