Executives of Arburg GmbH + Co. KG officially opened the new expansion at the Arburg Technology Center in Brno, the Czech Republic on April 21 — giving the facility room for turnkey systems, automation production and a dedicated area to Arburg's additive manufacturing machine, the Freeformer.
Arburg leaders Eugen Hehl, Juliane Hehl and Michael Hehl attended the ceremony, as did Helmut Heinson, managing director of sales. From the beginning of this year, the Czech subsidiary had been under the management of Daniel Orel, who succeeds longtime subsidiary manager Joroslav Novak, who retired at the end of 2014 after 22 years of service.
After the ribbon cutting, 50 invited customers toured the expansion.
Michael Hehl, managing partner and spokesperson for Arburg's management team, said demand for automation has grown in the Czech and Slovak market by 10-15 percent a year in recent years. Of the 34 Arburg employees at the facility, five are exclusively dedicated to automation and turnkey systems.
