GUANGZHOU, CHINA — Extrusion die manufacturer Zhejiang Jingcheng Mold Machinery Co. Ltd., which goes by the name JC Times, will expand into a new factory in October.
Currently the company has three facilities, all located in Taizhou, said Fang Yiqun of the company's planning department in an interview with Plastics News at Chinaplas 2015 in Guangzhou.
The new factory will consolidate the three existing sites into a larger space, about 760,642 square feet, in the Taizhou Huangyan Industrial Zone.
“Our facilities are no longer enough for our production needs. This will help improve management and production,” Fang said.
JC Times is investing 300 million RMB ($48.4 million) in the new facility, which will nearly double its production capacity.
The opening of the new factory will coincide with the company's 20th anniversary, and has been in the works for five years. The company's client base is currently 65 percent domestic and 35 percent foreign, but Fang said the company would like to increase its foreign customer base so that the breakdown is closer to 50/50.
JC Times recently purchased eight integrated five-axis machining center from Spain's Zayer SA, which Fang said is an unprecedented number for a Chinese company.
“We bought so many because of our production needs,” she said. “Using these machines will help us and our clients save time and energy.”
