Apologies my readers. You could have been wondering all weekend what “the other side” means, or not, hopefully.
It means different things.
On the other side of the globe, literally, from where I am, is China. I've been covering the China market for Plastics News for a decade, which happened to be what is believed to be the “golden decade” filled with economic miracles and craziness.
As China morphs into a more matured economic stage with surging domestic demand, I'll continue to write about it and bring you information that's often exclusive in the English world.
China has given the world many surprises with its unprecedented economic reform and growth and will likely to continue to surprise us, which is exactly why it's such an intriguing and exciting subject.
I also plan to zoom out a little bit, so to speak, and touch upon other high-growth opportunities around the world. For example, all that Chinese investment flowing into South American and Africa, the love and hate story between China and India, and so on.
Coming back to our side of the globe, there are plenty of high growth spots right here in the U.S. In the state where I live, North Carolina, we're seeing strong momentum of investments and expansions, including in plastics manufacturing.
Beyond all those specifics, I've been feeling the urge to jump out of the box and take a different look at everything. I've been writing about business long enough, and now I'm challenging myself to take a deeper look at how our readers do what they do and make things happen in the business world.
Let me know what you think and what I can do for you. You know where to find me.
