The Pack Expo show and the Pharma Expo, set for Sept. 28-30 in Las Vegas, again will include a Food Safety Summit Resource Center, organized by the Food Safety Summit, in Booth S-7632.
The resource center has been held at Pack Expo since 2010. It brings together experts in food production and food safety in an education setting. Topics will include best practices and recent advances on the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and the Food Safety Management Act (FSMA), food fraud, government regulations, environmental monitoring, allergens and compliance issues.
“Since FSMA was announced in 2011, manufacturers have, out of necessity, been hyper-focused on food safety issues,” said Charles Yuska, president and CEO of PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.
Pack Expo will be collocated with Pharma Expo for the first time. Pharma Expo is presented by the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering.
The trade show is expected to draw more than 30,000 attendees, and 2,000 exhibitors in more than 800,000 square feet of exhibit space.
The Food Safety Summit will hold its own conference and show May 10-12, 2016, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill. That event is aimed at the entire food industry, including processors, distributors, growers, retailers, foodservice operators, regulators and academia.
