Royal DSM NV has appointed a new leader for its Singapore-based global Engineering Plastics business.
Roeland Polet has been named business group director DSM Engineering Plastics, succeeding Roelof Westerbeek who has been in the role since 2008.
The company has referred to the position as President DSM Engineering Plastics.
Polet joins DSM from paint and coatings company Valspar Corp., where he most recently was senior vice president for global industrial and corporate development, based in Minneapolis and Shanghai. His experience includes positions as general manager in Ticona/Celanese as well R&D and marketing experience at DSM Engineering Plastics.
The handover between Westerbeek and Polet will start on July 3 and is expected to complete during the third quarter.
Westerbeek will remain in Singapore and work on various to-be-defined projects in DSM until July 1, 2016, when he will leave the company.
