MEXICO CITY — Organizers of the largest plastics trade show in Mexico are adjusting their schedule — not for the 2016 show, but the one after that.
The 21st edition of Plastimagen México will be held in the Mexican capital in November 2017, rather than in the first quarter of 2018, the co-organizers said this month.
E.J. Krause de México SA de CV and Tarsus Group plc said date changes involving shows such as NPE (to be held in May 7-11, 2018) had “saturated” the calendar for the plastics industry that year.
“By changing to [Nov. 7-10] 2017, Plastimagen México will benefit its exhibitors, 45 percent of whom are international companies, and retain the growth in participation of those interested in the Mexican market and region,” they added in a news release.
Plastimagen is the second major global plastics show to shift its schedule because of NPE's new dates. The Plast show in Milan, Italy, announced in May that its next show will be Sept. 26-30, 2017 — it had previously been scheduled for May 8-12, 2018.
2016 Plastimagen dates unchanged
The next Plastimagen México will be held March 8-11, 2016, in Mexico City. According to EJK, 95 percent of the exhibition space has been sold, and about 30,000 plastics industry professionals are expected to attend to show.
E.J. Krause de México is a member of the E.J. Krause & Associates Inc. network, headquartered in Bethesda, Md.
Dublin, Ireland-based Tarsus bought a 50 percent stake in Plastimagen México from EJK in November 2013.
