Have plastic cutlery, will travel.
Quickly. In the dead of the night. In a stolen pick-up truck.
Allegedly.
There's word out of Perry County, Miss., that an inmate at a county jail lockup used plastic cutlery to aid in his escape from incarceration early July 21.
The prisoner, Jason Manzingo, used the utensils “to manipulate the lock on his cell,” according to a local report on WJTV12's website.
WDAM.com had this to report: "He opened his cell door open with some plastic spoons, or some type of plastic utensils that inmates get for their meals," Sheriff Jimmy Dale Smith said. "He jammed the lock open with plastic spoons, he stuck the spoons in the latch and jammed the locking mechanism back so the door appeared closed but was still unlocked."
Local reports indicated authorities believe he allegedly stole a pick-up truck to escape. He was being held on burglary charges.
