The World Plastics Council will hold an executive meeting in China, and collocate with two other industry events.
The WPC meeting will take place Oct. 20 in Yuyao, China, and will include executives from leading resin producers, American Chemistry Council spokeswoman Allyson Wilson said in an email.
The meeting is scheduled to collocate with the 26th Annual Global Meeting on Plastics & Sustainability — an annual meeting of plastics industry trade associations — and the 11th International Forum for China Plastics Industry Development, she added.
The meetings will cover topics including materials innovations, recycling and sustainable growth, according to the Chinese organizers.
The meetings will be followed by the China Plastics Expo Oct. 21-24.
Initiated by PlasticsEurope and the American Chemistry Council's Plastics Division, WPC was formed during K 2013 by a group of global materials producers such as Bayer, Sabic and Dow Chemical as well as other industry players from Asia, the Middle East, North and South America, and Europe.
The group tasks itself with facilitating a united approach to address global opportunities and issues facing the industry and has been focusing on marine debris and post-consumer use solutions (recycling and energy recovery) as initial top priorities.
