Stork IMM BV, the Dutch manufacturer of injection molding machines, and French robot maker Sepro Group, have agreed that Sepro will make top-entry Cartesian robots that Stork will sell under its own name, worldwide.
The two companies have had a friendly relationship in recent years. Stork operated a Sepro S5-25 robot on its press at NPE 2015, and at the Polish trade fair Plastpol.
“Collaboration with injection molding machine manufacturers is a key component in our growth strategy and an important element in the ‘free choice' we offer to our customers,” said Sepro CEO Jean-Michel Renaudeau.
Sales through equipment manufacturers accounted for 12 percent of Sepro's global turnover in 2014, he said.
Robert Spekreijse, CEO of Stork, said his company is adding into new markets and products.
“The expansion of our product portfolio with the Sepro solutions allow us to offer to our customers the systems they ask for. Especially with our crate-line, for example; usually we are asked to supply a global package instead of a machine only,” he said.
Stork is based in Hengelo, the Netherlands. Sepro is in La Roche sur Yon, France.
