Angstron Materials Inc. has raised $5 million to increase production capacity for its graphene products — super-strong materials that can be used in nanocomposites and transparent conductive films.
Dayton, Ohio-based Angstron began seeking investment funding in late 2014. The firm ranks as the world's largest producer of graphene materials.
“The capital will allow us to expand our business and product development teams to fast track commercialization of critical products, such as our thermal management materials,” Vice President Ian Fuller said in a recent news release.
The firm now is seeking another round of funding, which it hopes to close by the end of the year.
