A plastics recycling conference has been delayed and relocated from the blast-damaged original venue to a new site in Tianjin.
The China Plastic Recycling Association, a division of the China National Resources Recycling Association, announced this week that its 10th China International Plastics Recycling Conference and Exhibition will be delayed by a month and move to a new venue.
The event was originally scheduled for Sept. 15-18 at the Binhai International Convention and Exhibition Center. However, the building was severely damaged by the chemical explosions on Aug. 12.
The organizer said it decided to move the event to Oct. 25-27 at a new venue, the Binhai One Hotel, more than 20 kilometers from the original site.
The organizer apologized for the inconveniences, but added, “Tianjin is one of the first regions in China to tap into recycled resources and has the most advanced industry model. Companies here have a plethora of operational and management experience.
“We decided to keep the event in Tianjin and hope industry peers can face the difficulties together with companies here and overcome hardships.”
