Composites One LLC has sailed its way to a Silver Exhibitor Award at the upcoming IBEX trade show.
Arlington Heights Ill.,-based Composites One is one of 15 exhibitors that will receive that award at the event, Sept. 15-17 in Louisville, Ky. The award recognizes contributions to IBEX and to the marine industry.
IBEX — the International Boatbuilders Exhibition & Conference — has been in operation for more than 20 years. In a news release, Composites One marketing communications director Marcy Offner said that the show “has always been willing to embrace new or more efficient technologies.”
Composites One distributes resins, reinforcements, gelcoats, pigments and related products from more than 450 suppliers. The firm has been solely owned by the Dehmlow family — through its Synergy 55 Corp. business — since 2012. Its history dates back to 1940, when Louis H.T. Dehmlow III and two business partners founded Great Lakes Solvents in Chicago.
In June 2014, Composites One bought the composites distribution business of Nexeo Solutions LLC for an undisclosed price. That deal moved Composites One close to $1 billion in annual sales.
