Resin distribution firm M. Holland Co. has launched MH2GO, a tablet-based information technology app.
The app — which was two years in development — will allow account managers and product managers to have functionality and information when interfacing with customers and suppliers, officials with Northbrook, Ill.-based M. Holland said in an Aug. 31 news release.
M. Holland account managers now can access real-time pricing and inventory information, generate quotes and confirm orders from a customer's office. For material suppliers, the tool enables product managers to track up-to-the-minute sales activity and report on the status of target projects.
MH2GO is accessible from an account manager's regular computer, cell phone or corporate intranet.
“We believe MH2GO is a game changer for us,” President and CEO Ed Holland said in the release. “It simplifies and speeds the transaction process, allowing us to get answers and information for customers and suppliers right during the sales call.”
Marc Fern, vice president of sales and marketing, added that the application simplifies the sales process, enabling account managers to spend more time with customers.
The launch of MH2GO continues a busy year for M. Holland. In May, the firm formed a partnership with Mexican distributor Grupo Solquim SA de CV to increase its presence in Mexico, Central and South America.
M. Holland also earlier this year hired materials industry veteran Dwight Morgan as its corporate development vice president, and in March, the firm added two new sales reps — one for the northeastern United States and one for international accounts.
M. Holland ranks as one of North America's four largest resin distributors, handling resins and compounds from more than 20 suppliers. The firm — founded in 1950 by Ed's father, Marvin Holland — has almost 4,000 customers and supplies more than 1 billion pounds of resin annually.
