Label and packaging materials maker Avery Dennison Corp. wants to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 3 percent annually through 2025.
The Glendale, Calif.-based company is out with a new sustainability report highlighting that goal.
”Cutting emissions while still growing as a company is the defining business challenge of the 21st century,” CEO Dean Scarborough said.
The company is using “The 3% Solution” carbon reduction effort developed by the World Wildlife Fund and Carbon Disclosure Project as a basis for its approach.
Avery Dennison expects to cut emissions by a minimum of 26 percent between now and 2025.
The company also wants to cut landfill waste by 95 percent and waste from label products by 70 percent.
