Specialty compounder S&E Specialty Polymers of Lunenburg, Mass., recently raised $24,000 at its third-annual charity golf tournament.
The event was held July 20 at Sterling National Country Club in Sterling, Mass. On Aug. 20, S&E executives Duane Shooltz and Jay Munsey presented the $24,000 check to Life is Good Playmakers, a Boston-based nonprofit organization that helps young children who have been hurt by trauma, such as violence, abuse, poverty and illness.
Shooltz, S&E's president and managing partner, said the event was “our best tournament yet.” Pro golfer Kyle Blakely appeared at the tournament on behalf of Charity Golf International. Numerous S&E customers and suppliers also participated, including James Monroe Wire & Cable Corp. president David Fisher. “I look forward to participating once again next year,” Fisher said.
S&E makes compounds based on PVC, thermoplastic elastomers and other materials for numerous markets including automotive, wire and cable and footwear. The firm also is a leading producer of flame retardant concentrates and compounds that require exact color matching.
