Germany-based automotive supplier Dräxlmaier Group is investing more than $35 million to expand its Duncan, S.C., manufacturing operations.
The expansion of the Duncan site, which produces automotive interiors and plastic components, includes upgrades to plant infrastructure and equipment and the construction of a 184,000-square-foot production and logistics building, according to release from the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce.
Dräxlmaier operates 60 locations in 20 countries with global sales of 3.4 billion euros ($3.8 billion) in 2014, according to the company's website. The Duncan facility, Dräxlmaier's only U.S. site, employs approximately 1,000, with 94 more jobs to be added over the next five years, the release indicates.
The expansion is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2016.
