Wilmington, Mass. — Trexel Inc. has named a new president and CEO: Brian Bechard, hired away from hot runner maker Synventive Molding Solutions.
He begins his position at the Wilmington-based Trexel on Oct. 12. Trexel makes MuCell microcellular foaming technology.
Bechard was most recently vice president and general manager of Synventive Europe, living in Germany. His responsibilities in that job included managing 370 employees in 17 different countries and sales of more than 60 million euros ($67.5 million).
Before joining Synventive, Bechard held senior manufacturing positions at Avery Dennison, where he ran an injection molding and extrusion factory.
He is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and Harvard Business School.
“I'm excited to be joining Trexel, whose technologies are aimed at solving some of the major challenges facing injection molders,” he said in a statement.
David Bernstein said Bechard, who will work out of the headquarters in Massachusetts, will play a key role in developing engineering and marketing strategies to help expand Trexel's offerings.
