At this rate, A. Schulman Inc. is going to need to clear out more space to hold all of its awards.
In July, Fairlawn, Ohio-based Schulman was honored with a 2015 Bosch Global Supplier Award from German industrial parts giant Robert Bosch GmbH. Schulman was one of only 58 global suppliers to receive the award. It's the 11th time that Schulman has been so honored.
“Our suppliers are important partners in helping us shape the connected world,” Bosch Chairman Volkmar Denner said in a news release. “We want to work with them to develop beneficial solutions for our customers.”
Schulman President and CEO Bernard Rzepka added in the release that “to be viewed as an essential part of this global leader's ‘connected intelligence' is a great honor.”
Bosch uses Schulman materials in a wide range of automotive, industrial and consumer uses, including connectors, housings and sensors.
Then earlier this month, Schulman's site in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, became the first-ever winner of the Plasti Award for Best Supplier of Additives in the Mexican market. The award was given by Mexican plastics magazine Mundo Plastico and by the Plastimagen Mexico trade show.
Schulman's San Luis Potosi plant supplies additive concentrates mainly for packaging and agricultural uses. Latin American masterbatch solutions vice president Roberto Lopez said in a news release that “this regional recognition is affirmation that we can meet our customers' needs in a timely and effective manner.”
Schulman employs 5,000 at 60 sites worldwide. The firm posted sales of around $2.4 billion in its 2015 fiscal year, which ended Aug. 31. Schulman ranks as one of the largest makers of compounds and concentrates both in North America and Europe, and also is one of Europe's leading resin distributors.
