Plastics industry veteran Mike Huff has joined private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners as an operating partner.
Huff most recently had been CEO of compounding firm Citadel Plastics Holdings Inc., which was sold to A. Schulman Inc. for $800 million in March. He had been working in a consulting role at Schulman since the acquisition.
Huff now is the 12th operating partner at New York-based Arsenal.
“We believe that Mike is an outstanding operating executive who will be able to apply the experience he has attained over the last 35-plus years to our current and new investments,” Arsenal partner John Televantos said in an Oct. 27 news release.
Huff had been with West Chicago, Ill.-based Citadel since 2008. His previous experience includes a 21-year stint with GE Plastics. While at Citadel, he helped the firm — which also was owned by private equity — grow through several acquisitions.
Arsenal has made 14 plastics-related acquisitions since 2012, most recently in September buying polyurethane spray foam makers Premium Spray Products Inc., Burtin Polymer Labs Inc. and Coating & Foam Solutions LLC.
