West Unity, Ohio — Injection molder Kamco Industries Inc. is expanding in Morenci, Mich., taking over a site that formerly housed a Palm Plastics Ltd. plant.
The Michigan Economic Development Corp. announced a $250,000 job training grant for the project.
West Unity-based Kamco specializes in injection molding for the automotive industry. It is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Kumi Kasei Co. Ltd.
The city of Morenci also plans to give Kamco a property tax abatement worth $257,000.
“I know that the partnership between Kamco and the city of Morenci will be a lasting partnership that will be beneficial for both sides. It is exciting to see the investment that they are making in our community,” Morenci Mayor William Foster said in a news release.
The new facility will employ 60, according to the release. Kamco did not respond to a request for more information. The company also has plants in Clanton, S.C. and Bradford, Ontario.
