Wilbert Plastic Services is expanding its paint capabilities at its Easley, S.C., plant and adding injection molding capacity at two locations.
The Belmont, N.C.-headquartered injection molder and thermoformer supplies parts for a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, healthcare equipment and consumer products.
Investing $2.2 million in Easley, Wilbert is adding a new, fully automated one- and two-component paint line, the company announced.
Wilbert also is currently adding a used 1,800-ton Krauss-Maffei press at its Lebanon, Ky., facility, and is slated to add a 2,000-ton Haitian in Easley in February, both supporting new programs with existing customers. Together, the machines represent an investment of $1.1 million for the company, President and CEO Greg Botner said.
“We continue to target large tonnage and increased value-add applications, and that fits within the strategy that we've been following and will continue to follow with all of our customers, but it's been definitely a strategy for us in the southeast that has paid off,” Botner said.
