Davis-Standard LLC hosted more than 30 customers and 15 vendors at a two-day medical tubing symposium held in late October at the company's technical center in Pawcatuck, Conn.
Customers saw new medical advancements at live demonstrations in Davis-Standard's clean room, There, engineers ran fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) tubing with barium sulfite stripes followed by alternate polymer tubing.
“This was our first medical tubing symposium in a number of years and it was a great success,” said Kevin Dipollino, Davis-Standard's product manager of pipe, profile and tubing systems. “We presented a variety of technical talks covering advances in medical tubing, including alternate polymer, micro-bore pump tubing and FEP technology.” Other topics included die design, vacuum sizing and gauge control.
