Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics has announced the third licensee agreement for its PacXpert technology in Asia Pacific.
The deal is the second for PacXpert in Japan, this time with Takigawa Corp., a leading flexible packaging producer for both liquid and granule content for food and non-food products.
Under the agreement, Takigawa will produce the packaging at its manufacturing sites in Japan and Vietnam for customers across Asia Pacific including Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and Vietnam.
“Japan is a sophisticated market, with high standards in flexible packaging,” said Mark Saurin, commercial vice president for Dow Packaging and Specialty Plastics, Asia Pacific. “A second licensee within a year is evident of the ability of PacXpert to provide a valued and innovative solution to the country. The consistent growth of the flexible packaging industry in the region has seen the standards and demands of packaging significantly raised.”
Dow signed Kyodo Printing as its first PacXpert licensee in Japan in November 2014.
PacXpert, a lightweight packaging design with a fitment closure and integrated ergonomic dual handles that enable precision pouring, easy reclosing and convenient carrying, now has 11 licensee agreements globally.
