Cable tie firm gets equity investment, plans for growth

Cable Tie Express Inc. is planning to expand its reach with added warehouse sites and expanded product offerings due to an investment by New York-based equity firm Roman Capital LLC.

The Noblesville, Ind.-based distributor offers cable ties and associated products such as heat shrink tubing, mounting bases, wire connectors and cable clamps.

“They've got great management, a great reputation. Nothing will change, but we will give them the financial backing,” said Bob Sires, a principal at Roman Capital.

Cable Tie Express retains its management team with President Char Cooper, Vice President Tony Van Hoozer and General Manager Doug Andrews Combined they have 57 years of experience.

The company has warehouses located in Noblesville, Dallas and Orlando, Fla. Sires said that that it will also add a Los Angeles area warehouse in February as well as space in Terryville, Conn.

“We have devoted the past 20 years to creating a business that puts our customers first and promote our focus on ‘tying service to quality.' We wanted to be able to offer even more to them in the future,” said Cooper in a statement.

Sires said that Roman Capital has taken financial stakes in about 10 companies that are involved in either real estate or industry and that the goal with Cable Tie Express is to provide financial and technical leverage.

Sires also owns Bay State Cable Ties of Crestview, Fla.; and Technology Plastics LLC, a molder in Terryville, Conn. He said that there are opportunities for the companies to work together, but, “We're trying to tie them together, but keep them separate and distinct.”

Cable Tie Express was started in 1995.
