Packaging company Constantia Flexibles has announced that it is increasing capacity at its manufacturing site in Burgos, Spain.
The 4 million euro ($4.4 million) investment will see the installation of a new narrow web printer and narrow web adhesive lamination machine, which should be completed by the middle of 2017. The capacity increase is due to growth in the home and personal care industry for high-quality packaging, particularly in cosmetics, Vienna-based Constantia said in a Feb. 4 news release.
The Burgos site is part of Constantia Tobepal S.L., a supplier of foil-based flexible packaging.
“This investment not only increases operational efficiency due to its focus on short run batches, but also underlines our clear commitment to provide the best product and service to our customers,” said Gerold Riegler, chief operating officer at Constantia Flexibles, in the release.
Constantia Tobepal has around 500 employees at its Burgos and Logrono production sites in Spain.
Constantia Flexibles has around 10,000 employees worldwide at 53 sites in 23 countries.
