Dow names new executives for Elastomers, P&&SP units

Dow Chemical Co. has made a pair of personnel moves that affect the management of its plastics business.

Greg Jozwiak has been named business president of the Midland, Mich.-based firm's Elastomers and Electrical and Telecommunications business. He previously had served for the past three years as commercial vice president of Dow's Packaging & Specialty Plastics (P&SP) unit.

Jozwiak, 51, “is a proven leader within Dow, and his diverse experience will continue to serve as a catalyst for our growth agenda within these markets,” President and Chief Operating Officer James Fitterling said in a Feb. 4 news release.

Dow Elastomers ranks as a leading producer of polyolefin elastomers as well as metallocene grades of EPDM. Dow Electrical & Telecommunications provides a variety of products and technologies to the power and telecommunications markets.

In Dow's second plastics-related move, Karen Carter, 45, has been named North America commercial vice president of P&SP. She has been with Dow for more than 20 years, most recently as global business director of Low Density & Slurry Polyethylene. Carter also had helped develop new business development for P&SP.

P&SP is Dow's largest single business unit, with 2014 sales of almost $13 billion. It includes one of the world's largest PE businesses.

Carter's “strong and proven leadership will be a source of strength for her team and our customers,” P&SP business president Diego Donoso said in the release.

Dow ranks as one of the world's largest plastics and chemicals makers with sales of almost $49 billion in 2015. The firm is in the process of merging with DuPont Co., another global plastics and chemicals giant.
