The Plastics Group of America has awarded its Carrier of the Year award for 2015-2016 to JB Hunt Transport Services Inc.
Each year, TPG — a materials firm based in Woonsocket, R.I. — designates one of its shipping vendors as its carrier of the year based upon the quality of service it provides. Metrics include timeliness of deliveries, responsiveness to company inquiries, and overall attention to detail.
This past year, Lowell, Ark.-based JB Hunt Transport went “above and beyond” by providing TPG with detailed diagrams on how to load its trucks, TPG officials said in a news release.
“They were always quick to address any issues that we might have had, providing us with immediate answers and solving problems before they ever escalated into situations that ultimately impacted our ability to make a delivery to our customers,” TPG president Bob Lebeaux said in the release.
“When a customer is able to view you as a partner, the relationship will always flourish,” added Andrea Turchetti, JB Hunt Transport's New England branch manager.
An official presentation of the award will be made to JB Hunt Transport officials later this year.
Lebeaux founded TPG in 1973. The firm now employs 50 and operates three compounding extrusion lines. TPG also resells resin, regrinds and brokers plastic scrap.
JB Hunt Transport was founded in 1961 and now ranks as one of the largest transportation logistics companies in North America.
