Bobst North America Inc. presented guest converting companies with a program about laminating technology on Oct. 20 and 21 in Elk Grove, Ill.
The program included speakers from Dow Chemical Co., Henkel Corp. and Bobst. Attendees also saw demonstrations of a Bobst CL 1000D laminator running two jobs at Clear Lam Packaging Inc. in Elk Grove Village.
For the first job, the CL 1000D was equipped with the flexo-trolly, which coats solvent-based adhesives directly on alu-foil, which was laminated to a PET film at a speed of 1,470 feet per minute.
The second job did the solvent-based lamination of two clear films – PET and linear low density polyethylene—at the same run speed, again using the flexo coating system. That was a Clear Lam production run for customers the package fresh vegetables or meats.
Clear Lam runs two of the bobst CL 1000D lamination systems in Elk Grove Village.
