Plastics News publishes our 2016 ranking of North American Thermoformers today. In print, we rank the top 100, but online (plasticsnews.com/rankings/thermoformers) we've got full data for 227 companies. Let's take a look at some of the numbers behind the ranking.
Our ranking includes $11.6 billion in North American Thermoforming sales. The average thermoforming sales per company is up 1.6 percent, matching the same growth from last year. Let's look at that over time:
Looking at those firms who filled out our survey, along with firms filing public documents, we can see that, although resin prices declined, firms did not pass through 100 percent of those reductions. Also, some firms experienced higher volumes which offset lower material costs.
More than half of our listed firms are predominantly industrial thermoformers - the average sales per company was 4.2 percent higher over last year.
Biggest Movers: these firms moved up in the ranking this year:

Amros Industries Inc. of Cleveland moved up 29 to rank at No. 91.
Fiber Pad Inc. of Tulsa, Okla. moved up 13 to rank at No. 102.
Robinson Industries Inc. of Coleman, Mich., moved up 12 to rank at No. 51.
Shepherd Thermoforming and Packaging Inc. of Brampton, Ontario, moved up 10 to rank at No. 112.
C+K Plastics Inc. of Metuchen, N.J., moved up 10 to rank at No. 68.
Piedmont Plastics Inc., Fabrication Division of Charlotte, N.C., moved up 9 to rank at No. 70.
Plastech Corp. of Atlanta moved up 9 to rank at No. 139.
Innovative Plastech Inc. of Batavia, Ill., moved up 8 to rank at No. 82.
Hagans Plastics Co. Inc. of Grand Prairie, Texas, moved up 8 to rank at No. 119.
Accuform Polymers Inc. of Warsaw, N.C. moved up 8 to rank at No. 148
