Naples, Fla. — Evco Plastics Inc., based in DeForest, Wis., is the newest Plastics News Processor of the Year.
The newspaper announced the news at an evening banquet Feb. 17 during its Executive Forum in Naples. The Processor of the Year Award is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
Evco runs plants in the United States, China and Mexico.
Evco won the top award over three other finalists: Dymotek Corp. of Ellington, MTD Micro Molding of Charlton, Mass., and Nicolet Plastics Inc. of Mountain, Wis.
All four finalists are custom injection molders.
Plastics News also announced winners of its PN Excellence Awards, which are given to companies in three of the seven criteria from the Processor of the Year Award. Dymotek won this year's PN Excellence Award for employee relations. Nicolet won the PN Excellence Award for customer relations.
The PN Excellence Award for industry and community relations went to Greystone Manufacturing of Bettendorf, Iowa, which makes pallets from recycled plastic.
And Plastics News named custom molder GW Plastics Inc. of Bethel, Va., as the winner of the Sustained Excellence Award, which goes to past winners of the Processor of the Year Award that have maintained a high level of excellence in the years since. GW was Processor of the Year in 2009.
Evco will be profiled in a Page 1 feature story in Plastics News' Feb. 22 issue. That issue also will have stories on all the award winners.
