Anaheim, Calif. — Guill Tool & Engineering Co. Inc. has introduced an advance in technology with its Bullet II extrusion head, which does away with the need for fastening hardware.
Guill said the Bullet II enables quick tooling changes, eliminates leaking and incorporates a patent-pending Cam Lock deflector retaining system.
The Bullet II design builds on Guill's 2015 introduction of the Bullet head with a fixed center design, multi-port spiral flow design and gum space adjustment.
Guill showed a variety of cross-heads and inline tubing dies for ultra-low-volume output applications in fixed and adjustable center configurations.
“The new design allows you to do a complete color or compound change in less than five minutes,” Bill Conley, sales manager, said at Guill's display at the Medical Design & Manufacturing West trade show in Anaheim Feb. 9-11.
As a contract manufacturer for the medical tubing industry, Guill has multiple layer and multiple lumen designs for controlling concentricity and wall thickness tolerances.
The quality management system at Guill's West Warwick, R.I., facility is certified under ISO 9001 requirements.
Guill has supplied extrusion tooling since 1962.
