Officials of Amut Group of Novara, Italy, said the company's single-stop extrusion process improves the performance of waterproofing membranes from different thermoplastic materials such as fluorinated PVC, thermoplastic olefin and thermoplastic elastomers.
Company officials said Amut recently has supplied a large Turkish customer with a hybrid line that can produce F/PVC or TPO membranes to 2.2 millimeters thick, and three layers of thermoplastic material and thickness ranging from 1 to 3 mm.
And no screw change is necessary, according to Amut.
Those materials improve the technical performance of the membrane, including physical features, according to Amut. The Amut technology allows lots of flexibility. For multi-layer membrane production in one step, the system uses a single calendar designed by the machinery maker. No off-line lamination is required, officials said.
It also can produce multi-layer reinforced membranes in one step, by means of reinforcing elements laminated among the layers to enhance the mechanical resistance of the finished product. And the system can also support base (fleece-back) lamination, usually on the lower side of the membrane.
Amut SpA will exhibit in Hall 16, Booth A05 at the K 2016 trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany.
