U.S. trade officials attended a meeting held at Chinese compounder Kingfa Sci. & Tech. Co. Ltd.'s headquarters in Guangzhou on Feb. 26.
Arun Kumar, assistant secretary of commerce for global markets and director general of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, among others, spoke at an event that was designed to facilitate exchanges between U.S. and Chinese small- and midsized companies, according to Kingfa.
Kumar touted the U.S. investment environment and policies and invited Kingfa to share its experiences expanding into the U.S.
Kingfa General Manager Li Nanjing said the company established a wholly owned subsidiary in Michigan in February 2015, having receiving strong support from both the federal and state governments. Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder's in-person visit in August to Kingfa's headquarters “significantly” pushed the project forward.
Kingfa Sci. & Tech. (USA) Inc. is launching compounding production in Canton, Mich., in March, with an inauguration ceremony scheduled for March 8.
