Canton, Mich. — Kingfa USA Inc. is in business with a two compounding lines spitting out advanced plastic pellets for a wide variety of customers from a new facility in Canton.
By the end of the year, four compounding lines, four injection molding presses and two prototype lines will be running at the U.S. headquarters for China's largest compounder, Kingfa Sci. & Tech. Co. Ltd., which is based in Guangzhou.
A similar facility will open in Germany in June and operate as Kingfa Europe.
“Kingfa is growing into a global company with a footprint in Asia, North America and Europe,” President Nanjing Li said Tuesday through an interpreter. “We grow together with our customers to move forward with leaps and bounds.”
About 50 high-tech jobs will be created in Canton, according to John Knight, business development manager. He helped greet about 100 guests March 8 at an open house of the facility, which will also have a research and development department, offices and warehousing.
“We're in every end market on the planet,” Knight said, pointing to tables of products made from Kingfa's engineering thermoplastic compounds, including a flat screen TV, car spoiler, roof shingle, power tools and toys.
