Bilcare Research Inc. is installing a new laminator for the company's Wilmington, Del., facility.
Bilcare Research is a division of one of the world's largest makers of blister packaging, and the new equipment will allow the company “to offer best in class delivery of Aclar laminates for stability packaging, line trial samples as well as full commercial volumes,” Bilcare said.
The division is part of the global Pharmaceutical Packaging Innovation business unit of Bilcare Research AG. It offers mono and barrier blister films to the pharmaceutical packaging industry.
“This investment in a new laminating line is just the latest component of our continued growth strategy to meet the needs of the rapidly evolving business models of the global pharmaceutical industry,” said Keven Stevens, president of Bilcare Research, in a statement. “We see increased demand across our entire range of Bilcare Aclar laminates.”
The Delaware project is part of a larger plan to make investments of 50 million euros in the company.
The new capacity is expected to be “fully available” by the beginning of next year, the company said.
