Apex Plastics is growing again.
The Brookfield, Mo.-based company is adding a Bekum H-155 extrusion blow molding machine to boost production capacity.
It's the third such machine Apex has installed during the past four years, and the unit can make a variety of products, “from small bottles to large handleware,” the company said.
“By adding the new Bekum H-155, we will be able to improve lead times and meet the increasing demand for our products," Apex President Damon Neff said in a statement.
Apex has spent nearly $4.5 million to expand and upgrade equipment and facilities during the past four years, the company said.
Apex is owned by Plastics Cos. Enterprises Inc., or PCE. Its holdings also include Geist Plastics and HTI Plastics. Lincoln Plastics is a custom profile extrusion company, and HTI is an injection molding company. Both are located in Lincoln, Neb.
Apex ranks 108th in Plastics News list of North American blow molders with blow molding sales of $4.7 million.
