Taizhou, China — Zhejiang Jingcheng Mold Machinery Co. Ltd., which goes by the name JC Times, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the opening of a new multi-million dollar campus dubbed the “dream factory.”
Jingcheng Times Chairman Liang Bin gave a preview of the campus in advance of the March 26 opening.
The contrast between the old and new space was stark. The old facility, like most factories in China, lacks any sort of personality. The new factory, designed by a Shanghai firm, sports a dark slate finish and bright iPhone-like white interiors, making it look like it would be more at home in an international urban setting like Shanghai, rather than in the Taizhou Huangyan Industrial Zone in Zhejiang province.
The entranceway to the administrative area is broad and oval shaped, making for a welcoming feeling with no sharp edges. Hallways and stairways are circular and interconnected, with atriums, green spaces and quiet alcoves that encourage reflection.
“We're very proud of our new factory,” Liang said. “Watching the construction has been like watching a child grow up.”
Liang calls the factory a “dream factory.”
“It's not just my dream. It is the dream of our team and of our brand. We've worked hard to make our dreams a reality,” he said.
